I need a duck guru

Ok, so here's the deal! I work at a preschool... Two of my little ones brought me two duck eggs they found floating in a local pond today. Now I know very well that the odds of these hatching are slim to none.... BUT for the sake of these adorable kids I'm gonna incubate. So my question is what can you tell me about duck eggs? I know chickens very well but not ducks? How long can they be in the water? I know nothing!!!

Maybe you can check in at the He Said She Said Who's Right Who's Wrong Nobody (or something like that) thread - there's been hatching going on, duck and chick. If I recall correctly.

One test for rotten eggs is to put them in water. If they float they are rotten and you do not want to put them in an incubator or they could explode.
