Can I start feeding my chickens layer feed at the age of 17 weeks?

ok thanksI think that should be fine. Generally, they need layer feed when they actually begin laying, but feeding a few weeks before is okay too. I feed All Flock by Purina with oyster shell on the side free choice so that I don't have to worry about different hens getting different levels of calcium. Some of your hens may start later than others, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
