i need help/advice

Hi! i have some young mallards that are getting into flying. I like letting them out of their pen to run around and eat stuff but i dont want them to fly away. I want to clip their wings but i never have before. Is there a trick to doing it? any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure if there is a trick or not, all my ducks are non flying. Hopefully someone with flying ducks will respond! Have you tried to google "clipping duck wings"? You might find something with pictures there! Good luck!

I just stretch out the wings and clip off the feathers all the way back to about one inch from the bone. I know some people only clip certain feathers, but I clip them all except the large ones that will bleed if clipped too close. I clip on both wings. It works.

when i do my mallord i just strech out her wing and do the 5 flight feathers closest to her body. u dont have to do the other side
