I NEED HELP!!! Mycoplasma!!! 911HELP

My birds I sent to the lab are positive. What do I do now. I have been reading Tylan injections? Is the solution you mix in water just as good??? I have been crying all morning scared I am going to have to cull my daughters pets. She has Ducks in there what about them? Do they get Tylan also?

I don't know a whole lot about mycoplasma in chickens, but years ago it was a real problem in goats and calves in this area. About the best thing we found to treat it was LS50 which is a mixture of lincocin and spectinomycin. Look in some of the poultry supply catalogs. It is available and I think it can be added to the water.

Tylan Soluable worked great for me. If your feed store doesn't have it you can purchase it at firststatevetsupply.com

Mix 1/2 teaspoon with 1/2 gallon water. Make new solution every day and use for 7 days. Do not use less than 7 days even if they improve quickly. Make sure this is the only water they have available so they will drink it.

In the field, many cases of Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection are complicated by other pathogenic bacteria; thus, effective treatment must also attack the secondary invader. Most strains of M gallisepticum are sensitive to a number of antibiotics, such as chlortetracycline, erythromycin, oxytetracycline, spectinomycin, tiamulin, tylosin, or a fluoroquinolone such as enrofloxacin. Antibiotic is usually given in the feed or water for 5-7 days; however, in turkeys, antibiotic may be given initially by injection, followed by feed or water medication. Antibiotics may alleviate the clinical signs and lesions but do not eliminate infection.

There are at least three other types of mycoplasma infections but this is most probably the one infecting your birds. Do you know exactly which mycoplasma was identified?
