I had a baby chick that I had to assist hatch on Friday after about 36 hours of fighting to get out and then giving up. Now the chick has either splayed leg or slipped tendons. I’ve had a hobble on since Saturday and boots since Sunday for curled toes and the swelling has gone down and the toes look much better. However the baby chick is still resting on its Hocks and gaining bed does on them. What should I do?

I had the same thing not long ago. I don't believe in culling, therefore I tried to help with braces and it did help, for a time. Its as if it got better to a point which was good until he got heaver after about 8 days he couldn't walk. Was getting trampled and pecked to death by the others. I realized I was keeping him alive for me, he was suffering. I put him down. Sad but true. I hope this is not the case with yours.
