Hello I have 5 chicks they are about 2months and 3 weeks old and I wasn’t home but I let them roam since I don’t like them to be caged up and one of the birds I notified his wing was slightly hanging and just saw that it’s very swollen I’m suspecting a cat attack or something similar but I can’t find any bite marks or anything I applied diclofemac sodium which is an anti inflammatory cream hoping the swelling goes down not only that but the bird has avian flu so this makes me scared it might die so if anyone has any tips it would be much appreciated on how I may solve this or fix this he does not seem to be in pain or anything he’s acting normal eating grass and being with his brothers and sisters

Is that on his wing? Looks like skin is missing.
Can you get some more photos of the whole bird and a shot or two further away?
Is this one of your Game Roosters?

You mention he's got avian flu - I know you are in Puerto Rico so do you mean Infectious Coryza or Mycoplasma?

If he's acting normal/eating/drinking then I would apply an antibiotic cream (neosporin, bacitracin or similar to the skin) to the raw area.

@roosterhavoc may have some ideas as well.

Yes that indeed on its left wing and I’ll get photos ASAP and yes it is a game chick I assume male I thought maybe they were fighting but he is quite docile so that is why he is in the backyard with the meat birds

Well by avian flu I mean like I’m not sure if Cory a or mycoplasma it’s the clinical sign which is the large scaps on fetherless areas it’s above his eye

alright will do Iadded diclofemac but what I’ll do is add that to the upper part and the lower part I’ll add beis por in

How long have you had him? Was he vaccinated for anything or have you injected any medications into that wing?

Just sort of typing what comes to mind as possibilities.
He is born and raised here I’ve had him for about 2 months and 3 weeks but I have not injected any type of medicine or vaccines I’ve only given them about 1cc of red cell in their feed since they were about 1 week old

What you are calling Avian Flu could it be Fowl Pox? The bumps over the one eye - that may be Fowl Pox. What do you normally do to treat that?

So you hatched him yourself and put the band on too?

When did you put the band on?
Yes well that is what I was taught it’s called in Spanish we refer as gripe aviar but we don’t normally treat it since we have never had that occur not only that but it’s apparently incurable the only cure is vaccination

And yes I hatched him and yes I did put the wing band the wing band I put when he was about one month old
