I have ISB browns(37) and I have read alot on here but not much about there skin.I have one that has dark patches where it's wings start. It almost feels like a scab.Is the whole chick supposed to be the same color? Is there something wrong?I haven't seen them pecking each other but ya never know.Should I do something or leave it alone? OH they are 1 week old.

Also when does multing begin?
Thanks for any help!

If its where the wing starts like the "shoulder" its probably a little patch of feathers getting ready to break skin right there. Young chicks change feathers several times before their final adult plumage comes in. Their first real moult will probably come late summer/fall after their first year.

OK thank you.I am noticing it is now on alot of them so either its normal or I have a real problem!Ill watch and see.
