I need help with sweets ASAP

I have a problem with sugar, the only way to break the craving if you truely have an "addiction" is to stay away till the cravings pass. It took me 2 weeks. I agree with the sugar free jello and sugar free pudding, it really helps satisfy when you just have to have it. But anything sweet tasting isnt really helping you fight it. I can have a couple cookies or something like that but only occasionally, if I fall off the wagon it takes another 2 weeks to get the cravings under control. I just dont buy it, if I dont have it in the house I cant eat it and I usually wont go to the trouble of making something from scratch just because I crave it.

Why deprive yourself of the luxury???

I am a chocolate fiend! That said, one of my favorite sweets are grapes. Take red or white grapes and put them in the freezer. They are a great sweet cool treat. I also like banana's. Slice them and put them in the freezer. As they thaw in your mouth it's like banana pudding

This sounds insane, but it is easier to quit sugar/sweets completely than just cut back.

The reason is because it is cyclic, and sugar causes a blood sugar high, and then following low, which is when you begin to have another craving. If you can go 3 days with no sugar, you will notice the cravings start to go away. Not that you still don't want it for the taste of it, but that feeling of "I've got to have something sweet right now!" is gone. Caffeine makes the cycle stronger, so if you can cut back on caffeinated beverages, it's easier.

It isn't hard for me to quit sweets completely-after about the first 24 hours, which are the toughest. It is hard for me to have them in moderation (makes no sense, does it?)
