silver spangled Hamburg. 27/28 weeks old. No crowing, no egg song, no eggs, no sounds ever. Is this a male or female?!? Bought as a sexed pullet. The obviously female one next to the bird in question has been laying for 2 weeks now and has a NOTICABLY smaller comb but no egg song. I'm certain it the smaller one laying because I catch her in the box without an egg and go check immediately once she flies the coop, and the other one is no where near the coop.

Addtional thought...give us a shot of the full back...the bird has a very clear pattern, which indicates pullet, but could be starting saddle, which would indicate male feathers forming...

This one is hard to tell.

Hamburg aren't supposed to be hen feathered but it is a trait that is occasionally seen in hamburgs. I'm leaning towards it being a male, but a full body photo including tail would be helpful.

It doesn't have a tail, I'm not sure if you can see that from the picture or not, and that's because it pulled its own tail out from preening or the other hens did but there was never any blood to indicate pecking. From when it did have a tail it was a hen tail not curved or long
