I need help..

Aaarrgh!

I just talked to the guy I am getting hatching eggs from in the spring. 6 Lavender Orpington, 6 Speckled Sussex, 6 Ameraucana (he has lots of color varieties...any suggestions on which to request?), & 6 Olive eggers. $20 per dozen! Woot! And only 20 minutes away!

My problem is, I want to hatch now! And I’m afraid once I order I’m going to Decide on a different breed. I keep looking at the list....still not sure if those are the ones I want (except the Lavender’s which we are definitely getting).


Do these breeds sound ok? I can only fit 22 in the brinsea...so I’ll leave 2 out and if there’s any duds after first candle I’ll add the 2 others.

The wait is going to do me in! How do you all handle your anticipation? Lol

The breeds sound great!!! it’s extremely exciting to be eggs hatching eggs!!!

My Speckled Sussex are the friendliest, my Lavender Orpingtons were so sweet the other birds picked on them. The other 2 breeds are flighty but have beautiful eggs.

Maybe I should get buff Orpingtons instead of Olive eggers...I definitely want to keep the Ameraucana as we want one colorful egg, and the family farm will take the roos to make either more Ameraucana to sell/hatch or Olive & Easter Eggers with the other breeds that are there. Ahhh decisions! I have heard great things about the speckled Sussex too which is why it is on the list!

They sound like great breeds I would go with buff orpingtons and olive eggers mine are sweet

I would get the Ameraucanas... Speckled Sussexes are more common
