Hello,
I purchased 6 new hens on march 1st and acclimated them with my original 6. all are about the same age. everything went well with no fighting, I have noticed a change in the pecking order and I expected that. the problem is now my americaunas from the original flock have stopped laying. could enyone tell me how long this might last? I was looking forward to the blue eggs for easter.

I have found this doesn't last long. They seem to get a bit thrown out by change but soon settle back to their previous habits. Are you sure they are not laying away somewhere?

I have 10 hens and 3 boxes - they all use one of those or the floor!! Yours sounds fine. I think they will soon be back to laying so don't worry.

1 nest for every 3-4 chickens is sufficient. Don't worry, they'll start laying again. Some birds are more prone to stress induced periods of laying disruptions.
