I need some avatar help!

I'm trying to resize the pic of Steven in his Class A's to use for my avatar and I can't get it to work. Can anyone help me out please?

When you open the pic on your desktop, there's a little "paint" icon. Click it, once it opens, go to the tools menu, and go to stretch/skew. Then type in amounts less than 100 (make sure you put the same amount in both boxes. Repeat until it is small, then cut the part you want.

Thanks, I just tried it and only gave me the option of saving it as art or bmp, not jpeg.

I have been tryin to figure out the mystery of the avatar as well...no luck so far I don't think...
