Hello,
I need some help please. I have 4- 4 month bantam hens who has been healthy. One of them laid their first egg yesterday. She has been lethargic and a little off balance since. Today seems a little worse than yesterday. I brought her inside, have been giving her water with electrolytes, some egg, a little pumpkin and crushed oyster shell. They have been on starter chick and a little layer crumble- I have them with the older hens. I’m thinking this is calcium deficiency, What do you all think? I have taken away the chick food so they just have layer. What else should I do for her?
Thank you for your help!!!

I'd give her 1 Calcium Citrate for a couple of days.

Being off balance is usually something neurological going on, possibly dehydration or eating something toxic or moldy.

I'd keep up with the electrolytes for a day. She needs to be eating her normal feed. Chick Starter is not going to hurt anything unless it's not fresh or it's moldy.

What's her poop like?

Ok. I got her calcium today 🤞. They did free range Sunday. Maybe she found something then. Her poop is a lighter brown and semi solid. Her chick food is fresh and not moldy just concerned about her not getting the calcium now that she is laying. Thank you!!

a little milk won't hurt; if you put out a small dish she can drink it like water and get a quick calcium boost (and protein, and water).
