I need this Exchequer Leghorn!

Not yet, but I've got some on order for spring.

She is a beautiful bird.

We have a light brown leghorn and she is just gorgeous... Gives us at least 5 medium to large white eggs every week and the shells are so glossy smooth. This site won't let me upload her pic. Guess I'm going to have to learn to do the photo bucket thing.

My son wants to breed her to a Black China Game roo... that would produce some interesting hens.

I'm getting them from Ideal. I'm only ordering them because I was already getting brabanters from Ideal.

Don't be too concerned about the white-on-black vs black-on-white thing. Like most mottled birds, these guys seem to change a lot during their lifetimes.

I agree that is a very pretty bird. I think that I'm going to have to build more coops if people keep posting pictures of beautiful birds that I think I need to have.

Just wanted to say that they are supposed to be more of a pied pattern instead of mottled. If I get the time I can type up the exchequer color standard from the ABA.
From my experience with exchequers I loved them. The ones I had were from McKinney and they looked more like a dorking in type, were calm, laid off white eggs, and overall didnt look like leghorns but they had the right color. I have seen some from Ideal and they look pretty good, they could use more white overall but they look good.
