I need to build a new coop! Any Ideas?

I have been using the same coop for many many years. It really isn't a coop it is just a shed that I have being using! In the spring when the snow melts it gets disgusting in the coop all muddy and gross! So my Mum said that we aren't getting Chickens in the spring unless we build a new coop so I need plans!

I get 50 birds so does anyone know how big I should build it? My other coop is to small.

I am using concrete for the floor.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

How many chickens do you have now? 50 additional birds??!! That is ALOT and requires a BIG coop area. Unless you are prepared for alot of work and 300 or so eggs/week then I would rethink those numbers and discuss with "Mum". Plywood on the ground with alot of bedding will cut down the mud problem.

Yeah you read right! I have 50 birds and I am getting 50 chicks! I have 8 siblings and a friend with 3 children using our eggs so 300 eggs really isn't enough!

If it is only a matter on $$$$$, build a big Woods's style coop. I have a smaller one (8X16') and it has been a good design for me. Check out the link below.
