I need to clean, but there's one problem...

My chicken coop is a huge mess! I need to hose it out (the poop falls down into a tray), but there's a problem: I've got wasps and yellow jackets milling around it, and I'll get stung if I don't do something. Any tips, other than spraying it at 4 in the morning?

If the chickens are not in there now and won't be for the rest of the day, why not spray it with some wasp/hornet killer?

Do chickens eat them? My 10 week old silky was looking at a bee on the ground and we scooped her up before she pecked it. We thought maybe it would sting her?

Use "Pam" cooking spray to spray them, you wont have to worry about a toxic bug spray. Then remove their nests. Dont let your birds eat the wasps.

Leave the nests!! My husband says they will not build where they built before and something happened to the nest, if the nest is still there. I tested that--WORKs. Don't ya hate whern their right? LOL
