I decided i want to raise and sell chicks, i found a 96 egg incubator i want to buy, but what i need is for someone on here that has done it before to tell me everything! i need and need to know. i have 42 hens plus a rooster, (im going to get 2 more) my idea is to have my chickens do the egg making and stuff and let a couple of them go broody and let them do there thing. but for the main amount of eggs i want to use an incubator, any suggestions what kind?, and how do you keep them before you put them in the incubator and how long can you keep them before you put them in? any input helps -thanks

Hatching Eggs 101 by @Sally Sunshine

I’ve only hatched once and am going to start breeding in a while. We didn’t have some crazy system we knew we had a rooster that kept doing his thing and we just collected some random eggs they laid I’d say they were in the incubator maybe 15-17 days if it auto turns you won’t need to turn them. We sprayed ours with some water twice a day and half the eggs hatched. We weren’t crazy on selling them or anything serious. So it was an austorlorp roo and Ameraucana and Rhode Island Red hens. Good luck on you new babies 😁
