Pullets, I believe.
There are a lot of nice roosters and a few nasty hens around! I haven't had any mean roosters (including a wyandotte mix) and have had only o?two bully hens (bared rock and sussex).
My wyandottes are spunky, curious, talkative, and always at the top of the pecking order. They aren't mean though. Maybe yours just haven't found their place in the flock yet. Give them a little time and hopefully they will settle down and play nice.
