I need to pick your brain 1/4 partridge EE 3/4 BC Marans

I was very surprised to find light colored chicks in this hatch, there mother was 1/2 EE and 1/2 BCM ( The mother looks like a black copper Marans hen in coloring) The father is a BCM. All of my chicks from last year that were half EE and half BCM we’re all black( and stayed black ) do you think the coloring has anything to do with the sex of the chick?

Oooh I don't know. but I did hatch a clutch of EE x NHR and EEXcochin all but 1 chick was white, only to all developed EE patterning later on and one of the white chicks was a standard unknown although definitly from a lace wynadotte or a calico princess, so neither parent was a white as a chick in any way, but the chick hatched full white whith a dot of black on its little head! I'm curious as to how yours turn out!
