I Need Your Help!!! Questions about Guinea Fowl!!!

I have a few questions about Guinea Fowl!
1. If I get some I would like to free range them...... the only problem is our dog and our barn cats. How are guineas around cats and dogs? Do they stand up for themselves?
2. What is a good male to female ratio?
3. What is the diffence between males and females (as in the way they look)

1. Dogs are not a problem. We put a shock collar to train the dogs to stay away but as the guineas got bigger, they took care of themselves.
2. no more than 2 males for each hen imo.
3. It is practically impossible to sex them other than by their call. Female has 2 syllables and male has one.
