Sandhill
preservation has a pretty good reputation. According to their web site, their stock originates from Mrs Millers flock.

Our birds are from Mrs. Golda Miller's flock. She did such a super job over the years keeping their size up and their beauty.

Mrs. Golda Miller, now deceased I believe, did more for this breed since Mr. Black first developed it and the work of Mr. Upham.

Thanks everyone. We love the coop, and don't know how many decades old it is. The house was built in the 1850's. Barn is pretty old as well. We can't take any credit for either the buildings or the chickens - it all came as a pretty cool package. We have given the girls a brand new life after getting them and they seem to be thriving with the extra care. All of which I learned from here in the few months since I joined. We took care of the chickens and the barn first, now we have to move on to the house. But, its fun, especially the chickens.

Only one RIR will eat out of my hand, but thats better than nothing. Michelle will come close. Pot Pie is a real character. So tiny! Her feathered feet are about as big as she is. About 3 or 4 of her eggs equal one of the RIR's. I'm giving a lot of eggs away and someone had the audacity to complain about "the little ones". I just looked at her and said "Really?" No more eggs for you!
Bahahaha.

Love your coop
