For the third time Lucy, my EE Layed an egg within an egg. Yesterday she was walking weird, so I gave her a warm sitz bath. I could feel her relax and the egg move down. Today I found the egg under the roost. She is back to normal.
Please RESPOND I am afraid this will be an ongoing problem. Not that I mind giving her a bubble bath and blow dry... But I think this could signal internal issues HELP!!

I'm praying for some advice, I'm so new @ this... she is my in my first flock. Thanks

How often does it happen; I know you said 3 times, but was that in a row, or over three weeks or months? Does she have normal laying days?

Last season all was well. She started laying again in Feb. and seems to have trouble ever since. Maybe one egg in between each double is ok but has calcium encrusted. She waddles terrible before laying a double... I see it and give her a sitz bath. Does this make sense?

Interesting! I'm not sure that I can offer any advice. I really don't know that there is anything you can do? Is she eating layer pellets/mash? Does she get free choice calcium? Maybe she is getting too much calcium, or her body doesn't properly utilize the calcium she is getting?

I hope someone comes along that can offer good advice!

When she's not "bound" by an egg she eats layer feed well. , free choice oyster shell, table scraps in the pm, and lots of water. Her 8 other sisters have never had a problem and she is my biggest bird, size and weight. I am worried because she is definitely not herself when "bound" with a double. and needs help to process.
