I was just playing fetch with Jax, our (nearly) five month old GSD. I threw his ball from the living room to the kitchen (I know, bad mommy playing fetch in the house) about 10 times and he retrieved it.
The next time I decided to mix it up, so I threw his ball and his kong toy at the same time.
Jax went after them but couldn't decide which one to bring back to me. He'd pick up the ball, then the kong, back and forth. He spent about five minutes figuring it out, dropping one then the other.
Finally he picked up the kong in his mouth and used a combination of his paws and his nose to bring the ball along too. It looked a bit clumsey and it took him a few minutes to get it done, but he did it!
I wouldn't have believed it possible, but I saw it with my own eyes.
Where can I get this dog's IQ tested, cuz I'm certain it's higher than mine!
