I picked up a turkey today. He's an absolutely gorgeous and ginormous wild turkey. He's very docile. I really can't imagine him being aggressive. I decided he'd do well in the guinea house, since it opens on the area he and the guineas will be free ranging. My timing was a little off and the poor guy was bigger than the crate I had him in, so he couldn't stay in it until nightfall. I went ahead and put him in the guinea house while the guineas were still out. I could kick myself!!!! Of course, the guineas won't go back in the house and the turkey is up on a roost too high for me to feel comfortable grabbing him. I should've put him in the goat pen to start with. So
darn
stupid
!! I'll try to move him tomorrow I guess. I hope the guineas decide to go back home in the morning. There's definitely a learning curve at work here and I just spun out of it.
