I've been out of town caring for my sister who had surgery. (She's fine.)

Husband has been caring for the chicks. Suddenly, he's being very proactive.

The smaller waterer broke and he bought a bigger one. He made a makeshift platform for the water. He then noticed the chicks were down on grit and bought chick grit (and I didn't tell him to watch the grit). He's told me the chicks need to go off the antibiotic now because it makes them thirsty and the turkey chick is fine. He started one waterer with fresh water. He then has been talking (quacking) at the African gosling and has named it.

He tells me I need to move some of the chicks to the next pen over. I need to clean it out, but he said he might clean it out if he gets around to it.

I think he's hooked. I don't think he'd admit it.

Mine was the same way...but last night while we were out grilling on the back patio, along came mama and babies. That man had the sweetest smile on his face as he was watching them parade on by.

Hey, it happens to us a lot! I was the same way....didn't want the bloody things in the house, etc., etc. First sight of the little ones, and it was all over with. The power of cute compels us!

Oh this is so good to hear and I hope it is catching LOL. As soon as I get my eggs from cottagegarden (so excited) I am putting them in the bator. I will be leaving for 3 days in June and my DH will be in charge. He is not a chicken fan as of now. I hope he will change his mind as your DH did!

I remember the first time my brother, who always called me crazy, got his first chickens. He soon out grew my population and has a larger, better flock than me! The look on his face should have given way to the future. Don't spoil it by saying anything!

He didn't want roosters, only now two of my birds are confirmed roos. So, I told him I might keep one and he isn't arguing with that either.

My DH is very good with animals, so I couldn't figure out why it was so long before he acquiesced on chickens. But now, he's really interested in them.
