when i went to check on my chickens today, my little rir squatted!!!!! that means it is going to happen soon right???

o ya! i will be like a parent taking pictures of there kids first day of school. (i drive school bus and it takes a long time to get to school on the first day)

We got out 1st egg on Saturday & it was like Christmas day to me! I never really noticed mine squatting, just noticed our roo mating w/ the hens for ~3ks prior to us getting our 1st egg. Good luck!

this may seem silly but i check my chickens to see if i can find any signs, since they free range. when i went to check her little but she squatted right down and started wiggling around.

I don't think it's silly at all, just means your a good chicken parent. If she did that I bet you'll see an egg in a weeks time or 2 at the most.

that is what i was thinking. but i thought for sure i would have gotten eggs from those sex links first.

You wld think so, but I remember my grandma's RIR's maturing fast. Who knows, they lay when they want to lay is what a lot of forum members say. Sure is exciting for you though.
