I think I have 5 roosters!

Well, my sweet little TSC chicks are 6 weeks old and I am almost positive I have 5 Roosters out of 7 chicks!! These are my first chickens and I am so disappointed. We have no access to more chicks unless we order, or hatch some eggs. I am tempted to hatch, we have an incubator. My husband took pics today and sometime this week I will post them. We have been super busy building our chicken pen, so no time to download pics. I cannot possibly keep all of these Roosters,I live in town and we have a noise ordinance. One of them is already crowing!!

Hatching doesn't always work.

New Years Hatch I hatched out 41 chicks. 27 were roos!

I have found quite a few of my chicks through Craigslist.

I have checked all the local feed stores - - - One at a time I have asked

"Can you order me a few chicks with your next order? ? " . . . .They are all given me evasive answers until FRIDAY.

I asked the FOURTH feed store this last Friday and they said sure no problem. I now have 4 pullets on order.

You may have to see if the nearest town's feed store(s) are willing to place a small order for you.

For a short time - - - I even looked on BYC for anybody in the surrounding areas that might be willing to spilt an order with me.

DON'T get too frustrated. If you keep looking, you will find a way to get your girls to your door ! !

Unfortunately, our only feed store does not sell Chickens and OUr TSC is done. They quit ordering before Easter

I did find some on Craigslist, maybe I will get some. I have a friend hatching some for me and my dd and I are going to try hatching. I am praying I get more pullets than roos this time.

my hen turned out to be a roo and he doesn't crow to often and is quiet when he does. hope yous turns out to be like mine

Order girls through "mypetchicken.com" - then you will be 99% guaranteed. They now will send as few as three chicks through the mail. They are awesome!
