Hey guys! I have a two week old chick who is already starting to develop a crown. Its a mixed breed, but I don’t know which breeds because im not sure which one of my hens/roosters (I have 2) the egg is from. Do you guys think it’s a Roo?

That is a fairly large comb for two weeks old. How does it compare to it's hatchmates? Are it's leggs thicker than some of the others? What breeds do you have?

Yes, what breeds do you have that it could have possibly come from. If you have leghorn in the mix I wouldn’t be surprised with that size comb.

Yes, what breeds do you have that it could have possibly come from. If you have leghorn in the mix I wouldn’t be surprised with that size comb.

Now that you mention it there is a chance it could be from a leghorn. I’ll update around 6-8 weeks.

Really? Have you ever seen hens that had this large of a comb at only 2 weeks before?

I've seen larger combs at 2 weeks. The chick is too young to accurately sex. Post updated pics at 6 weeks.
