OH NO! Guys little Dinner got attacked by a cat today I got the cat away from him really fast ( you know super speeding mother instincts and all) but he still ended up with a small cut at the end of his right wing it is small and he only lost one feather. I stuck him in a separate bin and put Franny in with him so he was not alone I was worried about pecking because Sweetpea would not leave him alone but Franny is very nice and does not seem interested in picking on him. I am planing on leaving him to heal on his own I figure it should be about 3 to 4 days be for the cut is mostly healed. These are my first chicks so I honestly don't know If I am doing anything wrong or I am not doing something I should be please let me know. Sadly it looks like the little one are going to be stuck inside until i can get them a proper home . Thank you Guys!

Should be just fine, especially if it’s tiny and it bled. It wouldn’t hurt to wash it with a little soap and warm water. Good job, chicken mama!

Thanks I was a little worried but yes it did bleed and Dinner does not seem to be uncomfortable plus he kept flying out and climbing back into the other coop with the others before I put Franny in their to keep him company. Thank you so much for the reassurance!

Is he where he can see all the others too?
Depending on the severity of the cut, you can put some Blu Kote on it to help hide the redness and put him back with the others. If they begin picking on him, then pull him back out.

I don't have any blu Kotex where would I find some? Right now I have him in the coop with the others but just with a separater so they can't hurt him they all seem happy.

I just checked Dinner's wing and it is looking good. It is actual kind of hard to tell that he was hurt because there is just a small gap in his feathers and it looks like it has already started healing. Thank you for the help and support guys!

I'm glad that he is doing well! I do think you have it all under control

Blu Kote can be found online and at most feed stores. It can be used for cuts/scrapes and minor wounds, it has antiseptic properties and will color wounds blue to help hide them. Wear gloves and old clothes if you do use it, it stains.

Dinner's wing is looking pretty good you can still see the cut on his wing but it is looking good. Good news is he made it another week they all did. Today all of the babies Eggbert, Sweatpea, Dinner, Franny, and Moa all turn 3 weeks old !
