I think it’s a duck egg but not sure found it in my yard.

I’ve had the egg for about a week an a half. Under a heat lamp and constantly checking and maintaining It’s temp at 100-103.how can I tell if it’s alive of dead?

Welcome to BYC, @Sneltz60 ! Candle it in a dark room. Do see any veins or movement? Is it a wild duck egg? If so, if you are in the US it is illegal to be in posession of.

All I see is the one vein and it kinda feels like it’s a hard boiled egg And thank you for that info I was not aware of that.

Unfortunately, it looks dead. I can't imagine it's alive, doesn't look good. If you found it in your yard, unless you live right by a marsh, something probably carried it there to eat it (like a cat or bird of prey) and dropped it. I'm guessing it was already dead when you found it. Good job trying to save it, but I think it's gone. I'm sorry.
