I think my chick hates me... :-( w/pics

I have 3 chicks and the other two are totally okay with being held. My friend will pack my EE chick around forever until I tell her it really should be put away. But every time we try to hold or touch or even put food in with this one it freaks out... I've had this chick for about a week now and the others for about 2 weeks. Not sure what to do... any advice? And when can I tell gender?

It does not hate you Its a CHICKEN you are a PREDATOR Its normal for it to be standoffish maybe make it a treat.. mine loves hard boiled eggs.

Only thing I can suggest is force it to get used to you and try to hold her a lot. Just keep at it, she may never be the type of chicken that pops onto your lap but now is the time to socialize them, even if they hate it.

I don't think this is a light brahma, it thought those were white? What ever it is it looks lavender, grey or blue. Something like that.

Aww, I'm sure it doesn't hate you, I think they're programmed to be scared of us.

I sort of force my chicks to let me hold them. When I pick them up I hold their wings down to their body so they aren't flapping all around, and make them let me hold 'em. But now I have chickens that walk under my feet trying to get me to hold them!

its normal for them to be afraid of you for a while just force them to be held and they will get used to you.

yes that is what it is i had one last year & i thoght it was the cutiest thing..how ever mine turned out to be a roo so he got a new home
