I think my chick is hatching, is it?

I candled my one of the eggs I was incubating and the white thing that separates the chick from that little air pocket was messed up and I saw something sticking through it. The thing would go back under and the thrust itself forward again. Is this the chick starting to hatch?

I was incredibly stupid and didn’t put a date on any of the eggs so I had no idea what it was doing, and what day it was at, and whether or not it was supposed to be doing that, and I heard people talking about internal pipping, and I searched it up only to find a bunch of pics of marker goin around the eggs, so this clarifies a lot for me. Yeah this is my first time hatching chicks.

It’s been a little over 24 hours and no external piping.

its been a bit more than 24 hours and no external piping. The temp got too cold but there is still movement. What should I do?

If its still moving just wait. Cooler temps means delayed hatch. If you assist now, its too early. Absorption of yolk is going on.

In another couple hours you could put a pinhole into the airsack end of the egg for oxygen but then stay out of the bator. You dont want it to dry out

Always have another accurate thermometer and hygrometer when incubating eggs. It means the difference between success and failure. What incubator are you using

Bator is just a cute/short way of saying incubator. You dont want to drop your humidity so stay out of the baror!
