Hi so I got 3 baby chicks about 4 days ago. All are very perky except one. This one is sleeping but constantly chirping. It seemed fine yesterday but today it seems lethargic. Even when I pick it up it wont squirm like it used to do.My other two chicks are just fine they walk around and seem healthy as can be. So is my chick sick? If so what should I do?

If you have any electrolytes I would try feeding it some by dipping it's beak into water for a second, then letting it swallow, over the next several hours. It may be suffering from shipping stress. SaveAChick or homemade electrolytes may be used.

HOMEMADE ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION

1/2 teaspoon salt substitute
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon table salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 gallon water

Also, make sure that the chicks are warm nough, but not too warm. A thermometer on the floor under the heat lamp is best to keep the temperature at 90 F the first week, then go down by 5 degrees F each week.

They weren't shipped. We picked them up from a feed store. I made her a mash of scrambled eggs and milk. She ate a bit. Then pooped this really watery poop. Right now she's sleeping.
