First of all, I will take pictures when it is not snowing out so I won't wreck my camera. Which will hopefully be tomorrow. But in the mean time I would like to know any precautions or treatments I could do for my chicken if he really does have fowlpox. I have read up a lot about it but I thought it would help me out more if I made a board about this and my chickens.

I noticed black specks on my rooster on his comb and wattles. And it looks like he has whiteish and blackish specks on his ear lobes. He is a bantam cochin. About 15 weeks old. I'll get a pic of him ASAP. In the meantime can someone please help me out. What can I do to help treat fowl pox? He snuggles with me at night and I've notice little wheezes from him every now and then. Almost like his air way is constricted or something. Is this a sign of the wet form of fowl pox?!

I'm so afraid my chickens are going to be hurt!

I have my rooster and then 5 other silkie pullets (well they haven't crowed yet). All the same age.

So, please, if anyone at all has any info on this please help me out. I'm a first time chicken owner with these chickens and they are very dear to me. What can I do to treat this? Prevent my other chickens from getting this? Is there a chance they could die??

I'm very worried my flock could die from this!!

Thanks to anyone that helps me out... I'm a very worried chicken mama right now.

deff post pics... do they look like warts or just black spots? i am not an expert but mine had little black marks on their crops and it just turned out to be where they had little cuts from running into things...silly birds... but none of them looked like warts or bumps... I would post pics asap and let one of the experts weigh in..

Alrighty, I got some pictures.

Do these help? It was really hard to get good pictures...

Can you see? It's the black specks on his comb, wattles, and earlobes.

Phew! I have a good picture of him I got just a little bit ago but I can't upload it today anymore.

I hope you are right. I mean, I did notice it after he got scratched by one of the roosters last Sunday I think. That was before I gave the extra roosters away. After that I noticed the black bumps. But then I noticed they looked like fowl pox and I guess I freaked out. I'm such a spaz.
