It's been a while since I've had a heavy breed rooster. I forgot how sexually "excited" they are in the morning. I open the coop pop door and he is the first down from the roost and you would think I turned a fox loose in the middle of my hens. He chases, pulls, grabs, man handles you name it for about 45 minutes to an hour in the morning. He won't leave the hens alone to eat, drink or just stand in peace. I've been use to my Black jap roosters who generally are lower on the pecking order since most of by hens are of the heavier variety and don't tolerate all the non sense the minute they step off their bed.

I have a rooster that I want to get rid of but at the moment he is DH's favorite--- I have 4 GREAT roos that I want to divide between two coops but DH isn't ready to send him off to freezer camp even though Capt'n Jack the roo is a is a complete jerk --- I am sooooo past ready--- dear Jack may just meet with a terrible accident some day soon while DH is at work.

I swear honey, Jack must have been depressed. Why else would he have hung himself from the rafters? I think he left a suicide note here... seems he was suffering from a identify issue, something about wishing he was a robin. So sad... oh well, whose hungry?
