I think one of my 61/2 week old chicks is a Roo! It is making a sound now that sounds like its trying to crow. I was not planning on having any roosters and dont now what I should do. If I keep him do I need to keep him seperate from the hens? Would he be helpful in protecting the girls? Anything I should know would be helpful. Is there any chance I'm missreading the attempted crowing sound for a change to a "cluck"?

Does he have a red comb? I wouldn't separate them if they are all getting along. My roo is a sweetie. He cuddles with his girls.
