I think this is a hen?

Hi, This chick hatched in our incubator 5/30. I believe she’s a black copper maran (could be a mix). We have 2 other roosters (both have started crowing). and two other hens that hatched the same time. This is the only one of its breed and I keep going back and forth if it’s a rooster or hen.

How can u tell? He/she doesn’t have saddle feathers or the spikes on the inside legs like the others

Because he DOES have male saddles.

hmmm for me it’s so hard to tell.
This one def a rooster. He’s found his voice!

Because he does have male saddles.

Some roosters and cockerels do not crow when a dominant rooster is present.

Definitely a cockerel. When you have more than 1 cockerel or rooster you I'll sometimes have one that matures slower. He definitely has male feathering.

Interesting! These are our first roosters. We started w 4 hens.
