I think this is my maran

I had three olive eggers and two marans hatch. The breeder uses marans as her source for olive eggers…. So at hatch one of my chicks died. I didn’t know if it was a maran or olive egger. They all looked the same black with black feather legs.

I think this is my black copper maran rooster, what do you think?

These guys I think are olive eggers (that’s how the eggs were written out) but they could also be Birchen marans

They look like OE's... the gold on the back is my give away. Unless breeder has gold leakage in their Black Silvers.

I hate for them to go, but I don’t have the room for them. I love roosters they are hands down the sweetest things

My last hatch was under a BCM broody from my Marans flock. All 3 Olive Eggers that hatched were cockerels so re-homed them also. Wanted Olive Egger hens.
Going to try again in the spring and hopefully my only EE isn't throwing mostly boy heavy progeny.

If I were you I'd try contacting your breeder and get pics of the Sire. If he's got gold leakage in his Silver, he might not be an Olive Egger.

Hold out for a few more opinions on him. I'm no expert.

@Bantambird has Black Silvers. She can most likely confirm or say I'm wrong.
