I think we might have rodents?

So a few nights ago we had temperatures at -20.... the next morning I went into the coop to check on the ladies, check feed and water, and collect eggs... One of the eggs had froze and something had chewed a perfect crater with the diameter of a half dollar into the side of it.... I did notice one dropping that seemed mouse in size, but no other proof of rodents... any idea of what I have... and how I should get rid of it?

Thanks for any insight!

It probably was a mouse. How to get rid of them I have no clue. I live in the country and it's almost impossible to get rid of field mice!!

I have a ketch-all repeating mousetrap that works great- catches them alive. Then I drown them in a 5 gal. bucket.

I have this in with the chickens in the run. It doesn't use bait or poison. I have caught 6 at once at least, sometimes 3 at once. It fills the chamber up with mice.
