I thought I had 13 pullets but I'm starting to worry!

Got 13 "guaranteed" pullets from the feed store (yeah, right
roll.png
) They're all over 3 months old. Haven't heard any crowing yet, but they're kept away from the house so I might not hear it. Quite a few of them are starting to look roo'y. This is my first time raising chickens so maybe I just don't know what specific breeds look like? A few are starting to get a little aggressive with each other, and I don't know if it's just them figuring out the pecking order or if there's another explanation! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

#1

#2

#3: Front and center light colored (I was hoping 2 & 3 are sisters, but 3 is looking suspicious!)

#4

#5: The Reddish Brown one second from left

Thanks again for taking the time to help! There are a few others I'm not sure about, but they don't sit still long enough.

Is the dark easter egger the one in pic #3?? If so here's a few more. If not, let me know which one and I'll try to snap a few better ones!

This last one is from about 3 or 4 weeks ago, same one I think though..

The only one that pinged my "roo-dar" was number 2, due to the dark patches on the wings. Looking closer, it seems the color is well dispersed, and no other roo sign, so I'm thinking you have all pullets.

They're at the age where you'll start getting larger, redder combs as they reach maturity and get ready to lay.

I agree!

# 2 MAY be a rooster. Color patterning is not 100% cockerel so don't be in a hurry to get rid of that bird just yet.

#2 was my main concern as well! Only because 2 and 3 were from the same batch (they looked identical up until about 4 weeks old), and they look so different now! Figured something fishy was going on, but I definitely will wait to be sure before I do anything with any of them. I don't currently have a roo (that I'm aware of

) so one wouldn't hurt! How many roosters can you have safely in one flock anyways? I have 15 altogether at the moment.

Thank you again everyone!

One roo in that size flock would be nice. Two may be pushing it, it would just depend on the flock and each animal.
Would you post pics of that second bird in a month or so? It should be pretty apparent by then what gender it is.
