I thought mallards hatched at day 26

My chicks hatched last tuesday & wednesday. I have a mallard duck egg that is still wiggling, but hasn't pipped. I hate waiting

Nope day 28.

That still means that yesterday was day 28. It is still wiggling.

I know it is a mallard because the guy who gave me the egg mated his mallard with a neighbor's mallard.

Anyone hatched a mallard egg after day 28?

They can go 28 - 32 days on average. Try to be patient.

I was turning my quail eggs & I heard a peep it has pipped on the bottom. Exciting

They will hatch alot of time after day 28, so just sit on your hands and wait. LOL

I think I was so anxious because the guy who gave me the egg said that they often hatch early
