I bought this because it was supposed to help with food waste. As you can see food is all over. Did I mount them too low?

I've never understood the logic of these feeders and how they are supposed to be low waste. There's nothing to keep the feed in, it's just a bunch of big holes. I tried making one myself, with PVC elbow joints - total waste of effort, the chickens would just rake the feed out with their beaks. After trying a whole bunch of feeders, I eventually found one which is truly zero waste. It's a DIY feeder I found on this forum. I've been using it for almost 5 years now and there's never been any feed outside of it. It's brilliant!

I have feeder ports similar to these on two plastic feeder containers. I've found these only work well with the larger pelleted food. Crumbles or mini pelleted feed spills out like this.
