I'm wondering if my "pullet" speckled Sussex is actually a roo.... I'm pretty sure it is (wasn't suppose to be), but everyone here knows how it goes :) They're from a hatchery and 6 1/2 weeks old now.

Then there's two of my 6 Easter Eggers. I know 3 are suppose to be Roos (ordered 2, they sent 3) and I have two that I'm really not questioning. What about these two?

I wish I could have got better pictures....I just moved them outside yesterday so they're still very skittish.

He is a young cockerel--handsome!

I figured that little bugger was a "he"....his comb is much bigger and redder than my other SS. What do you think about the two Easter Eggers?

Now I think I need to get pictures of my other EE....I have two all white ones and I'm hoping that I don't end up with more Roos. I am up to 4 males to 18 females when it was "suppose" to be 2 males to 20 females.....grrrrr!

The Speckled Sussex is definitely a male.

Judging by the coloration of the red EE and the width of the comb on the white EE, I'm going to say both are male. The white one -could- be as female though, it would be better to have a close up pic of its face.

Thank you both! I will try to get closer pictures later today. I'll enlist my husband to help :)

The SS is a cockerel for sure, and the reddish EE is probably a cockerel, too. I'm leaning towards the white EE being a pullet.
