Yesterday a neighbor's visitor brought their pit bull. It attacked & injured 2 of my 3 hens. I am kind of afraid to pull back the feathers and look at the damage underneath they are missing alot of feathers and one seems to be in still be shock or maybe she's dying I guess I'll find out. She isn't making a sound she is just staring blankly & won't come out of the coop. That's fine I suspect she should be quiet and alone. I read that someone else had a dog/chicken attack, and it sounds like I am doing all that I am supposed to do.
I will try to give her some canned cat food tomorrow I just read some post about helping the feathers grow back. She God willing will heal. The other lady didn't come out of the coop until late this afternoon, she's moving slower then usual but out and about. If anyone has any other ideas about healing foods or if I should be giving her any anti biotics or anything I'd appreciate it. Thanks Heather
