Well, I was taking a walk in the park before I went home today. There were two "herds" of dogs. I came across a beautiful dog walking on a leash. It was a Norwegian Elkhound. I asked the owner what it was and if i could pet it. It was incredibly soft and sweet. It came straight up to me with its cute brown eyes. The best part was after petting it, my hands didn't smell like dog, and even the lady said she hasn't groomed it for awhile. It had huskie like markings with black on the top fading into a soft bluish grey near the stomach which was all white. It was so calm and well mannered. I also came across a Lab. or Lab. mix, sweet things. I used to have one my mother purchased from the ASPCA. They said she was part Rot. part Lab. But she had webbed feet. She was sweet, and clean, but still had a bit of that dog smell to her. I now have a mutt that has the 'dog" smell big time.. but I still love her. She is part German Shep. part Australian Cattle Dog part something else (we are not sure if it was another german shepherd or not). She has blue eyes, which is strange becasue neither her mom, or grandmother had blue eyes, have you ever seen a German Shep. with blue eyes? Her litter had mainly black and brown puppies, but her brother (who sadly was run over a week ago) had coyote markings with a medium tail, wasn;t short or long. It looked like we docked it, same with my mutt, she has a crooked short tail. Even the vet asked us if someone docked it, even though it was natural. These mutts have taken down deer... I woner if she is part coyote.. hmmm..
