Ok so I bought some beautiful wood ducks on eggbid. They guy and I agreed to ship on monday so they ducks wouldn't be on the trucks too long. He even shipped overnight, and they got here this morning. The drake seems ok thirsty and hungry but ok. However the hen didn't make it.

We were expecting them yesterday morning. I sent him an email with the sad news and I am not mad at him. I just kept thinking that the usps would have rushed a box that said "LIVE BIRDS" and took proper precautions. Don't they know they are sent with no food or water. I just want to scream! I feel so awful now for our drake. I don't know where I am going to find a mate for him. They were apricot wood ducks and I don't know of anyone else who would have some.

ARGH!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do now.

I am so sorry. If they were shipped overnight the PO has to reimburse you for postage as they were not delivered in time. I am not sure how you could put water in there with them but I know some people put slices of apples and oranges in when shipping live birds.

The USPS does NOT guarantee overnight delivery - which is why I use fedex if it has to go overnight. That poor duckie!!! I wonder why the guy didn't put some grapes in there, or apple slices. Or something!

I ship express and so far everywhere they've went takes 2 days...so I make sure my birds have a bunch of sliced up apples (chopped up to beak swallowing size) as well as gel made specifically to keep animals hydrated in one bowl...and in the other bowl their food. By the time they get to their new home they are out of everything still and are so thirsty.....so for someone to ship out birds and put nothign in with them really upsets me
