I Want a Quail

What Type of Quail Should i get?
... i am still learning about them so i still am wondering what kind of quail should i get.

But i might not get 1 because of my parents >.<

Depends on what you want to use them for...

Button quail are excellent pets, but not the fuzzy hold me type... they are pretty and not as difficult to raise as exotic-er varieties.

Coturnix quail are the BEST egg layers, and grow real fast. It only takes 8 weeks from hatch to start laying!

Very easy to raise and hatch.

Bobwhite quail are regulated by some states as they are a native bird... so you'd have to pay for a gamebird license. They are also more finicky and beat each other up on a regular basis.

Gambel/Mountain/Texas Bluescale/Valley quail are all difficult to raise/hatch, brood, and take forever to mature just like the bobwhite.

If I were to recommend a type, I would say Coturnix. Just sayin'!!! Good luck!

Definitely Coturnix. Button quails are, eh, ok. They're not really what I like to call "lap quails".

I have never had Coturnix Quail, but have heard everybody loves them!

I personally love my Buttons!

I have a very friendly male that doesn't mind being held, and picked up! I'd go with the Buttons!

Buttons are really great, but their friskiness makes everyone want a coturnix. If one of yours is calm, then you've got a perfect quail right there.
