And I am wondering how to incubate it. My son is super excited and of course want to set it. He is mostly in love with the size of their eggs I think, lol. Anyway, I am incubating some duck eggs and was given a couple dozen more today along with this goose egg. The owner said she was a Pomeranian goose but was in with several others of different breeds so if it hatched it would definitely be a mix. Anwho, are temps the same as chicken and duck? How long til these big ol suckers hatch anyway? He also gave me three call duck eggs as well

But would not part with any Scovy eggs. Heck you can't beat free though right, so what do I really have to lose by trying? I kinda feel bad though since this gosling will be all alone if it hatches, can it just hang out with the ducks or will it be unhappy? Sorry for the 20 questions, but I am truly clueless about geese, and how to incubate them.........

I am doing my first hatch of geese... I hope. I am at day 7. I am keeping the temp the same as duck and chicken. Higher humidity than chickens tho. I am keeping it 50 to 55% from start to lockdown and them going to go to 80 to 85. Hope this is correct. they take the same time as duck eggs.... 28 days. Good luck. I think that a lone goose will be fine with ducks. I have a lone turkey and it runs and FLYS with the guineas. It even is learning to make that horrible noise that guineas make..lol

The gosling will be fine with the ducklings, it won't know the difference until it's old enough to breed.

It will thing it is a duckling, I have 3 09 hatch embdens that were raised with chickens and they still hang out with chickens from time to time even tho they're breeding right now.

I have a lone duck that hatched with guineas, and he hangs out with the guineas all the time. If the other ducks come near him, he runs away from them

Anything is better than nothing, I have an embden that was a lone hatch, and I only had bantam chicks at the time, so the embden was alone. That goose will not leave the yard unless it is following me, not even when my other goose tries to tempt him into following her. He has 'issues', all from being a lone hatchling. The other goose was raised with some ducklings, and when they migrated to the pond, so did she. And she still hangs out with them, though the goose prefers to sleep in the yard, while the ducks stay on the pond. But every evening the goose and her duck escorts come back to the yard, then the ducks run back to the pond
