I was given these 8 chickens by a person that raises Black Copper Marans. He told me that 7 are BCM pullets and the White one is a Leghorn. I have 1 of them in isolation because it was not acting right. I'm treating it and the others with Amprolium. It has diarrhea, stood around with eyes closed and had "red" in the stool and it smelled really bad. Research lead me to Coccidiosis. I need help identifying these chickens. I'm new at this, so I apologize if these are dumb questions. A couple of the black ones have combs and a couple don't. A couple have different looking feathers, so I'm not sure if I have a rooster or 2 in the group. They are still a little skittish, so picture taking was a struggle. I've only had them for 4 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had planned on only getting 4 chickens so my coop and run wouldn't be crowded. He gave me 8 chickens so I could raise them for awhile and give him 4 back....I'm going to treat these chickens for 5 days with the Amprolium and then he's getting 4 back. I don't want to overcrowd them. I need to know which 4 should I keep. I only raising them for eggs and it's just my wife and I at home, so 4 chickens should be plenty. Thanks in advance!!
