I wasn't quite expecting to see this in the coop today!

It was a pleasant surprise though! My BO has been sitting on a clutch of eggs, but I guess I miscalculated their due date! We have 4 chicks so far, one egg that is chipped and cheeping (so cool to hear an egg cheeping!), and 7 more that may or may not be doing anything.

Here's the proud momma! Daddy is a Salmon Faverolle. I'm not sure if Buffy actually has any of her own babies in there, but so far we have 2 definite Salmon Faverolles, 1 Black Langshans/SF mix and what I think may be a Dominque/SF.

We are up to 6 peeps, 1 more chipped and peeping, and 5 more "status unknown" eggs. I held one of the eggs as it was hatching today, which was seriously cool. I'm surprised that momma didn't get bothered by that, but she didn't seem to mind.
